Recently more RAW scientists from across the UK attended an aviation spill response training course, providing them with enhanced awareness of the unusual hazards that we may encounter following an aviation accident, and enabling them to respond and provide environmental advice in the aftermath of an incident.
The training also equips our team to undertake risk assessments suitable for post-accident spill sites, where our specialists may be attending once the majority of the aircraft / debris has been removed but our skilled staff are required to manage the remediation of resulting contamination following fuel or oil losses.
Simon O’Rourke, Operations Manager for Wales and the Midlands, said ‘The training was informative and enlightening, highlighting the unusual and sometimes invisible factors that need to be considered when undertaking works following an aviation incident’.
RAW has successfully responded to a number of aviation incidents. For more information regarding RAW’s aviation spill response services, or our spill response and remediation services in general, visit www.raw-group.com.
