RAW’s Operations Manager, Simon O’Rourke, was invited to present to the Welsh National Land Contamination Working Group yesterday, during a training day focussed around hydrocarbons.

Simon presented to the gathering of representatives from Local Authority Contaminated Land Officer groups, NRW, Public Health Wales and Welsh Government on the subject of ‘Dealing with Oil Spills’. He provided case studies and summary information around a ‘best practice’ response to an uncontrolled release of oil, with the subsequent investigation, remediation and validation works required.

Simon holds responsibility for our offices in Swansea, Malvern, Ely and Norwich, covering South Wales and the Midlands and dealing with more than 150 spills a year for clients from the insurance, commercial, industrial and farming sectors.
